Finished my first Power Puff episode and took a couple of days off from work and just read books, played video games, ran around Montreal with the family.

The most fun I had reading was with THE MARTIAN.

A “realistic” sci fi book about a guy stranded alone on Mars and left to figure out how to survive there. A lot of techno babble and some fun dialogue.

Also good:

Ready Player One, and GOING CLEAR.

Going Clear has already been turned into a documentary and will run later this month I think (HBO)

CRONUTS. Montreal showed me how amazing CRONUTS are.

What is a Cronut?

The flakey dough of a Croissant made into the shape of a donut, fried and filled with an amazing ganache. HOLY HELL! I still dream about it!

BUT YOU SHOULD NOT TRY TO MAKE THEM YOURSELF!

I went to a schoolism workshop on CINEMATIC STORYTELLING hosted by Pixar’s own ALEX WOO

He had a really slick presentation, gave good pointers on how to watch movies, what to look out for, the audience got to do some nice exercices, it was an all around fun afternoon.

So much fun that it made me question the story of the comic I had been working on for months.

A lot of that will now have to be redrawn and retooled, thanks Alex Woo, THANKS FOR ALL THE EXTRA WORK!
