And then I started doodling a character from an older sketchbook, the FLOWER BANDITO!

FUN! I`m starting to get antsy for my move to Montreal.
I hope that they are really singing this song there.

Yes, people have a hard time doing nothing these days!
Here is a sketch done during the daily commute to downtown Portland. I find it weird that I`m not able to read on the bus without getting seasick instantly, but drawing is not a problem.
hm..
I wanted to continue ranting about this inability to do something worthwhile during bus riding, but was then struck by the irony of it (= me ranting about peoples addiction to “always do something” and then crying about my own problems when trying the same). I guess staring out of a window doing nothing is completely fine for some small portion of the day.

Traveling with Greyhound is pretty shitty by the way, but I think that’s also comic material, so STAY TUNED!

Here is a photo of my desk at Periscope, trying to map 48 pages of storytelling. Please note that I have four different colors for the four different story lines and its AWESOME!
John Martz did a posts about his process that led me into buying post-its and I really like it. Its exactly what I needed get my head around things and its just very helpful to SEE everything mapped out at the same time without clicking on stuff.
And then my shoe started acting weird:
Yes, the draining life of a cartoonist! I`m looking forward to a very exiting and interesting weekend and I`m giddy!
OVERANDOUT
Hello hello!
One of the stories I`m currently working on has a very bad person in it that has to be vile, demonic AND entertaining at the same time.
A evil dandy that has a speech impediment and only the worst intentions.
This was a very early story sketch that has the evil person trying to trick the Forrest clam:

I started thinking about the guy and thought of two big inspirations behind what I want to convey:

Here is a small percentage of the doodles that were made afterwards:

I tried doing the design in watercolors and I still think its working.
He feels a bit to “urban” but I still like the design overall!

Also please note this great drawing studio mate Ben Bates did for me:

KING OF COMEDY!
have a great weekend!
Hello!
The following depicts the same scene shown some posts below, with the difference being that I`m more happy with it and that it contains some characters actually doing something.
They look a bit less “rough” but adding these kinds of gimmicks makes it easier to deform them when it fits a gag and I think it works alright.

I also watched some documentaries:
- One made me dislike economy (The Corporation)
- One made me dislike food production (The future of Food)
- And this one made me dislike “LA People” (Confessions of a Superhero)
I hope everyone is having a good week so far, I will now read Plastic Man by the great Kyle Baker and Blood Meridian by McCarthy while drinking tea.
Indeed!
