`ello, `ello!

Montreal day no 3, I am posting this from my new apartment with a belly full of cheap chocolate cake.
So far my impression is that Montreal really feels more European, its more Cologne then Seattle.
I like the metro, I like the more gritty urban feel and I don’t mind the cold yet.
I also think that one good way of trying to pinpoint a difference between a European city and an American one (at least in the north west) is dog poop!
If you see someone walking the dog in Seattle or Portland, chances are high for that person to also carry a bag for later street cleaning.
If you encounter the same thing in Europe, no cleaning will happen and dog excrement on the street is just viewed as something that has to be avoided when walking.
Its especially weird when thinking about the general “more straight” feel a average German city has. Bushes are trimmed, porches are clean and everything seems to be very straight. Portland was more wild, people had trash and weird stuff all over their lawns.. no one really cared. BUT people clean up after their dogs. Maybe its the penalty’s. HmHmmm.
Tomorrow will bring more exploring of the city and “figuring out stuff”
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
My time in Portland is coming to an end and I`m sad and happy about it AT THE SAME TIME!
I met great people, learned a lot about making comics and I think I ate more skittles (red and green) then a human should ever digest (And then I found out that they are 99% made out of corn syrup, WHO KNEW?)
I will scan some sketches that the nice people of Periscope did for me in the coming weeks and I`m thankful for their ability to endure my constant babbling.
That said, I`m looking forward to getting lost in a new city and to finally start working full time on my diploma for a while.
Getting back into training and finding a nice apartment are also two things I`m very much looking forward to.
SO
Next stop on the Adventure train will be Montreal, I hear its cold there so I might even buy a hat finally.

Some thoughts on movies/tv I saw in the last weeks:
Sherlock Holmes, not really good and extra weird thanks to Sherlock using BJJ
Whiteout, even worse (but based on a good comic)
The Dark Crystal, should have seen this as a kid but the designs hold up (and are still scary)
Heart of Darkness, interesting documentary about the torture of filming Apocalypse now
Lucky Louie, Louis CK is funnier when doing stand-up
Whatever Works, boring and bad. Woody Allen and Larry David seemed a great fit but its a weird fetish movie without any merit
Overnight, alright documentary about the ego maniac that made the Boondock Saints
Pontypool, nice take on the Zombie genre. More weird then horror
A Serious Man, great great movie by the Coen Brothers
Internet things worth mentioning:
The uncut interview between Jon Stewart and O’Reilly – HERE
A documentary about making the Blade Runner film – HERE
CANADA, YOUR NEXT!

Drew this two days ago while feeling pretty good. Today has been pretty shitty though and I dont feel great.
It did not help that my whole room is now filled with 398 wet clothes because of an dysfunctional dryer and that my bank screwed up some money transfers. Bad bad day and I really should have bought more evil sugar stuff to fight it.
OHWELL
I`m off watching movies and waiting for tomorrow to arrive.
