Hello Hello,
Workweek ONE is over and here are some intimate shots of Periscope Studios in the early morning:

Next is a thumbnail page of a story I´m currently working on. Working on means “being frustrated with” because I have a hard time finding a working method that is fun for me. Its like being the guy who is able to sing a bit when he is in the shower but sucks when on a stage or actually trying to write a song. Its a weird and whiny problem and it will go by itself once I feel less uprooted by being in a different country.
Below the thumbnail, some sketches to find a look and feel.

AND I was hanging out with awesome Mr. Ellis in a Bar watching UFC 106. The fight card was good and there were lots of great back and forth matches. But the real attraction were the fans shouting, screaming and banging on walls during the bouts (the place was packed):

YES!
Have a good week!

Hello!
I am alive and well, my third day in America Country is slowly ending and was great.
Hanging around famous and great people at Portland Comic Con was a blast, although I was not really contributing anything except for lame questions or jokes about chubby girls dressed up as Bat Girl.
I´m still a bit weirded out by the fact that I am now walking through Portland, that I´m talking english AND that Dollars feel like Monopoly money.
My face goes from A to B and then back again:

ALSO, this happened a couple of times:
(partly because I thought that it would be a hoot to walk around without glasses for a while)

Thanks for all the well wishes, I wanted to upload some pictures as well but was to stupid to take my camera cord with me.
I´ll buy another one and show some juicy details of living in Oregon.
Have a good start into an all new, all fresh week!

Hello!
My plane to the new world takes off tomorrow morning and I´m exited!
Apart from packing clothes and choosing tshirts , I´ve spend the last days thinking about comics, researching comics AND I may have found an direction that could be the right one.
While looking things up (Miyazakis Mangas were of interested), I found this documentary about Studio Ghibli making Princess Mononoke. Its pretty long and very different from anything I have seen about Ghibli this far.
The DVD´s never have any good bonus material and Miyazaki has never been a friend of cameras. That’s why this Documentary is different.
You get to see him smoking (a lot), working on storyboards /animation, fidling over what color basket A should have and you see him struggling to find the right scenes.
He is not the weird gray bearded ANIME GOD he is normaly portraited as, but more a hard working chain smoker that argues a lot.
Worthwhile if you have an hour or more to spare!
(klick and scroll down to see the first part named 1-1/14)

See you soon!

Doodled this while listening to Episode 95 of Smodcast.

Not much else is happening.
I´m watching EXTRAS and pretty much every movie that is rentable at the moment and I´m constantly looking at two empty bags sitting in my room that want to be packed in the next couple of days.
How do you pack for an “uncertain time period”?
I´m also not sure if I should shave before boarding the plane.. I have heard so many horror stories about US Customs that it might be easier to enter the US as a clean-shaven-more-trustworthy-looking nice European fellow.
Wearing a white shirt and kinda grayish slipover of course.

Oh, the new Dragon Ball game for the DS is great by the way!
Cheerio!

Something from today:

AND:
If you haven’t seen THE BROTHERS BLOOM yet, please do!
Its a fun movie with great people and lots of actually good quick practical jokes. Its also quirky without being to close to the hipster playground.
Et plus:
THE LEAGUE. A new Series from Fox that is actually very Funny. A bit like a Judd Apatow movie without the overlong drama parts (but that may come later).
AAAAAANNNDDD re-watching SOLARIS (new version) made me certain that its one of the best movies about love there is.
closing with a bang,
Happy Halloween!
